What a difference a year makes

Yesterday was Bear's last day of school.  I took pictures. Everyone takes pictures right?

I was hoping to see him look haggard and worn down from a year of tough school to make myself feel better, superior, because I'm momma. But nope, I just see my baby on the first day of school and my little boy on the last day of school. I can't get over how much he's changed.

Excuse me while I grab a tissue it's getting difficult to see what I'm typing. .. . . .

****************************************************************************

I'm back. Screw the typing, I'm just going to post the pictures.

                                                              -First day of school 08/2014-
                                                                     Look at dis babay!!!!
                                                                   Literally a baby.
Thumbs up for over protective mommy.
Seeing his bus for the first time "NOPE!".
All the cries and feelings.
                                                                          Even daddy.

                                                     -Last day of school 05/28/2015-
No baby, just strangely long 4 year old.

                                                    Who's apparently making finger guns......
                                                        Thumbs up again for mommy.
Just a big kid going to school, nbd.
                                                               Nobody waving.
Ain't nobody got time for that!
"See you at 4 o'clock kiddo I got coffee to drink".

I spent his whole first day of school trying to figure out what to so with myself, and I spent his whole last day trying to figure out what to do with him for the next 3 months......

"Happy 2"

So has any other parent gotten sucked into an episode or two of Wild Kratt's?  The animal cartoon with the Kratt brothers?  Well, it is a beloved show in our house and recently I watched an episode on Earthworms. Do you know that Earthworms come out at night to eat?

Well they do. And now I know this to be a fact after sneaking out onto my back patio to get some much needed alone time after getting the beasts into bed.  Out of the corner of my eye I kept seeing something weird moving. Minding my own business lasted all of 3 minutes, so naturally I got really close to the dirt patch that was wiggling. And HOLY SHIT! There's like 5 Earthworms coming out of the ground munching on stuff.  So , now I know that the Kratt brothers really know their shit, heck yes, creature power for the win ya'll!

Now that I've cleared that up for anyone else who has ever wondered......  Today is Zo's birthday. She was actually born at 9:12 p.m. on 5/28/13 so, writing this post at 10:30 p.m. actually kind of makes sense. And you know, if I hadn't procrastinated how would the world ever know about the Earthworms!?!?!?

Anyways, today was also the last day of school for Bear, but that will be tomorrow's post.

"Happy 2". That was Zo's version of Happy Birthday, I'm 2!  All day I have heard that. Poor Zo. Her dad kept thinking she was saying "Have to pee to"  so he hauled her off to the pot every 5 minutes until I caught on and informed him of what she was really saying.

"Happy 2".  I can't believe she's 2. I can't believe it's been 2 years since I've birthed her. I can't believe she's been screaming at me for 2 years.  2 years. Wow. They just don't stop growing... Ever. They never slow down. I feel old. My last baby is 2 . She's a toddler. That's damn near adult hood.

Well, you know what I mean. It's just so fast. Every year I feel like the entire year has passed in a day. Like I was just checking her over and laughing at her chipmunk cry. Counting her toes, noticing how she looked just like her brother when he was born.

Lord. Two. Two years. I can't believe it.

"Happy 2", Zo.

In case some of you aren't on my face-space I made a video in honor of the birthday girl and her favorite song.

Enjoy.

The last day before the last day

"Today is the last day of school before the last day of school." .

That was my motto this morning as I ran around like a crazy person getting Bear ready and haphazardly throwing things from last nights dinner into his lunch bag because we were very late as usual.

I am so ready for the 2 weeks of freedom from schedules and alarms I will feel before the inevitable crash of realizing we have 3 months to go of this summer, I can TASTE it!  We will be all little Ceasar's pizza commercial up in here, "THERE'S NO RULES! THERE'S ONE RULE!".

This summer.....  Spent with a soon to be newly 4 year old and 2 year old. Lordy lordy.  I should probably get my head out of my ass and plan all the things.  Or at least get started on our good behavior/chore charts.  Because...... Yes, I am one of those people.

But instead I'm just sitting here looking at pictures from this May and gulping my coffee while the most demanding member of our foursome is still asleep or as she likes to call it "A-Fweep". How cute is that?!?!?!?

Oh you know, just little babies looking
all adorable like. Being cute and stuff.

A girl's gotta eat. If nobody's gonna help
you gotta do you, boo......

Bus stop Pajamigans, like shenanigans but with pajamas

Someone tell me how it is MAY already!?
Don't get me wrong, I am le super excite, but MAY! When did that happen?

I know nothing of this May whom is trying to convince me that it is wonderful warm summer time.

Pssssh, I live in Ohio, as far as I'm concerned this is STILL Sparta.

Okay!?

Raise your hand if you wear your pajamas to school drop off or the bus stop!

*Raises hand*

Raise your hand if you think that is trashy and you would never

*Sticks tongue out at you and farts in your general direction. *

I like pajamas. I am an adult. I went through 18 years of rules to get here. I pay bills and hate it.

So in my book, this whole adult thing gives me certain privileges.   Like ice cream before dinner or bed time, or really anytime I want it. And wearing my pajamas at the crack of dawn to ensure my spawn gets where he needs to be on time.

Now I'm not talking holey, dirty, skanky jammies or nighties, but, let's be real, I'm not going to change out of my sweat pants and t-shirt to put on a nicer pair of sweat pants and t-shirt.

If I'm feeling fancy I'll throw on some jeans from the floor and pull a hoodie over my t-shirt.

And in my opinion, slippers are an acceptable form of shoe when weather permits.

But maybe that's just me.

However, it's probably you to if you're in your work-out gear, because lets be super honest here, Yoga pants = pajamas.......
